Working with customers in the inorganic based coatings (metals, metal-alloys and ceramics) industry, speaks well and is comfortable in front of customers, has a strong technical background in material science and understands how changes to the manufacturing process of various materials impacts customers’ application/requirement (semiconductor/PV of highest priority).

Responsibilities:

• Subject matter expert for inorganic based coatings (metals, metal-alloys and ceramics)
• Provide direction on optimal materials & processes selection – applications include energy, semiconductor and photonics
• Identify needs not addressed by current material solutions and lead development of new materials technologies.
• Determine properties and appropriate design values for design and analysis.
• Establish test plans when necessary to characterize application specific material properties.
• Attend conferences, trade-shows and talks to stay informed on latest technologies and associated materials required to support
• Develop, author, and publish white-papers on new materials developed to support emerging technologies

Preferred Requirements:

• Materials Engineering degree. Metallurgical Engineering focus and advanced degrees are preferred.
• Knowledge of process-structure-property relationships in metallic and ceramic coatings
• Knowledge of PVD coating processes and materials used for energy, semiconductor and photonic applications.
• Experience in material selection and developing specifications
• Bilingual (English/Chinese) – not mandatory
