Senior Director of Business Development

Cutting-edge startup specializing in the commercialization of Implosion Fabrication technology for creating nanoscale photonic and optical components. We are on a mission to revolutionize the industry by developing innovative products and solutions that have a significant impact on a wide range of applications.


  • Develop and implement a strategic business development plan for the commercialization of our nanoscale photonic and optical components, in alignment with the company’s vision and goals.
  • Identify, prioritize, and pursue new market opportunities by evaluating the potential of various products and technologies in the photonics and optical components space.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, including potential customers, partners, and suppliers, to increase the company’s visibility and credibility in the market.
  • Oversee the sales process, from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring a strong customer focus and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with our technical team to ensure that our product offerings align with market demands and customer requirements.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to inform and adjust our commercialization strategy as needed.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to increase brand awareness and generate leads.
  • Develop and manage the business development budget, ensuring a strong return on investment for our commercialization efforts.


  • A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA or relevant technical degree) is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or product management within the photonics, optics, or related high-tech industries.
  • Demonstrated success in driving product commercialization, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in the photonic and optical components market.
  • Strong existing relationships within the industry, with a proven ability to establish and maintain strategic partnerships and collaborations.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a wide range of audiences.
