Laser/Optical Engineer

, CO

Highly motivated laser/optical engineer to join our engineering team and develop the next generation of laser engines for our high-power industrial laser systems.

  • Experience with lasers, preferably laser diodes
  • Experience with automated alignment processes, like pick-and-place robotic equipment, preferably for optical or semiconductor components
  • Ability to develop data collection and database interface and integration into manufacturing execution system
  • High level of competency with modelling of optical systems (Zemax highly preferred)
  • Ability to develop optical alignment tooling and procedures

Key responsibilities:

  • Model and design optical components based on system requirements. Generate and maintain related drawings, specifications, design documents…
  • Develop alignment processes, including automated alignment procedures, for high power laser assemblies
  • Develop and implement test plans for validating optical assemblies and components. Document tests and ensure high level requirements are met
  • Develop laser system test plans (as part of a multi-disciplinary team), perform testing, and generate test reports

Preferred credentials and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, or related fields
  • Mid to senior level experience in laser systems
