Design and develop fiber optic connectors, connector components and connector processes. Develop, plan, and coordinate projects and technical aspects of fiber optic connector customer requirements through direct involvement with Applications Engineering and Product Management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

• Design and develop multi-fiber and single fiber optical connectors.
• Plan and coordinate projects for each new product assigned including scheduling of resources
• Design components produced by injection molding and stamping
• Maintain a high level of expertise in the following areas: fiber, cable, TX/RX connectors, connector installation, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain documentation for possible patent submission.

EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• BS in engineering field
• Background precision design and optics highly desired
• Ability to work independently with minimum direction and supervision.
• Experience with hardened or outdoor connectors
