Job Description:  Opto-Mechanical Systems engineering position is available with a leading developer of high performance electro-mechanical and electro-optical systems, sub-systems and components. 

*  Responsibilities: 

            Execute the development, design, and analysis of innovative new products from concept through product verification and delivery. 

            Translate customer requirements into verifiable system and sub-system performance requirements

            Document designs in accordance with industry standards (ASME 14.5)

            Develop and execute qualification test plans in accordance with industry standards (e.g. MIL-STD-810)

            Establish design error budgets and sensitivities 

 

*  Education/experience:

            BSME/MSME and 5+ years of experience in complex optical designs with experience through hardware verification

            FEA and GD&T proficient with CAD modeling experience (3 years experience)

            Experience with Ansys and Solidworks preferred

            Static, dynamic and thermal analysis experience desired

            Knowledge of athermalized opto-mechnical systems and properties

            Familiarity in designing a stable optical system under a dynamic and thermal environment

            Experience in conducting design trade studies and building prototypes to validate concepts

            Capability to work with Test and Manufacturing Engineers to troubleshoot issues

            Familiarity with and adherence to industry quality procedures and methods (e.g. ISO 9001)

            Experience directing/coordinating manufacturing or building of prototype products and/or systems

            Experience leading problem solving and troubleshooting assignments for manufacturing and customer problem resolution

            Support the development of technical proposals and select subsystems and components to meet requirements
