Technical Account Manager (Entry level to experienced, OPT, H1-B eligible)

The Technical Account Manager is responsible for understanding the needs and opportunities of their named accounts, which they translate that into sales opportunities.  The Technical Account Manager develops and maintains relationships with customers as assigned. CSE also will be required to collaborate with the larger team on more complex customer issues.  The role requires effective lead follow up, opportunity identification and qualification, and technical and commercial discovery skills. Frequent communication with the customer and coordination with internal product management, project management, engineering, manufacturing and quality resources is required.  

Responsible for cultivation of a set of named existing accounts.  Primary responsibility is to deveolp a set of high-potential named accounts, understanding their product usage and applications to drive success. While this department is managed by the sales organization, the primary focus is to solve customers’ technical challenges.

Create successful outcomes for the customer by assisting them in their applications, recommending products, anticipating customer needs, and sharing new product releases or enhancements to drive demand.   Will provide technical and administrative product information and quotes when appropriate. Represents the company to the customer and the customer to the company in application-related matters; understanding of customers’ business and product requirements is necessary.  Ability to understand and knowledgeably represent company’s products is a must. Responsible for meeting assigned sales quota. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed customer satisfaction scores
  • Identify new opportunities for products and capabilities
  • Build strong relationships with customers at multiple levels in organization
  • Know products and capabilities and be able to articulate the benefits to solve customer needs
  • Understand market alternatives for clients, and possess capability to position company’s products successfully
  • Confer with customers by telephone or in person to provide information about products or services, take or enter orders, cancel accounts, or obtain details of complaints.
  • Provide accurate orders forecast to Sales Management
  • Develop and execute strategies for named accounts
  • Manage and maintain orders pipeline and opportunities in CRM

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Photonics-related field (Physics, Engineering, Applied Science).  Advance degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated success in a customer facing role
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding goals in previous assignments
  • Demonstrated track record of compliance with sales policy and related regulations
